Traditional Chinese Translator
Meng-Chieh (Mavis) Hsieh is originally from Taiwan. After graduating from the National Taiwan Normal University, Ms. Hsieh came to the United States and pursued further education in vocal performance. She finished her Master of Arts degree at Ball State University in 2012, and then received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Hartt School, University of Hartford in 2019. She is the winner of several vocal competitions and has performed in Taiwan, United States, and Italy. In October 2014, Ms. Hsieh was awarded 3rd prize and “Best Interpretation of Francesco Paolo Tosti” in Mondial National Vocal Competition, Taiwan. She was a featured artist with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh in 2013. She has been a featured soloist in various operas and concerts, including Muncie Symphony Orchestra and Indianapolis Symphonic Band in Indiana, Los Angeles Taiwan Center, Crescendo Vocal Ensemble in New England area, and Hartford Opera Theater in Connecticut. Ms. Hsieh and her guitarist friend Jaclyn Jones are the founders of Luca Duo. Ever since the duo formed in spring 2019, Luca Duo has been receiving many performance requests in New England area and New York City. She is currently acting as the adjunct faculty at University of Saint Joseph and Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut. Recently relocated to Maine, Ms. Hsieh is on the roster of Amethyst Chamber Ensemble, and teaches voice and piano in her private studio.
次女高音謝孟潔甫於2019年取得哈特佛大學（University of Hartford)的聲樂博士學位。自幼喜愛音樂，並積極參與許多表演與歌唱比賽。畢業於國立台灣師範大學音樂系，並於2012年拿到印第安納波爾州立大學（Ball State University) 音樂碩士學位。師從知名歌唱家Valerie Sorel、Maureen O’Flynn、Joseph Levitt、任蓉，以及聲樂指導(vocal coach) Eric Trudel。她曾榮獲世華聲樂大賽新秀以及最佳中文藝術歌曲演唱獎且活躍於台灣與美國表演舞台上。2013年，她獲選為匹茲堡歌劇院的青年藝術家，且參與新歌劇“Night Caps” 世界首演，飾演Ting-Ying。 2017年底於哈特佛歌劇工作坊（Hartford Opera Theater)，參與新銳作曲家Mark Lanz Weiser 的作品“The Place Where You Started”東岸首演，飾演Brianne一角。 2017至2019年，獲聘於康州Crescendo Chorus擔任駐團次女高音，演出近二十場音樂會。2018年夏天，受珊蒂藝文空間以及世新大學校友會邀請，於台中市新民高中音樂廳與知名旅英打擊樂手謝尹珊聯合舉辦 “花現樂音—夏末音樂會”。2019年受洛杉磯台灣會館的邀請，擔任其年度音樂會”花想四季音樂會“的主持與聲樂獨唱。謝孟潔現任教于哈特音樂院 (Hartt School of Music)以及聖若瑟大學 (University of Saint Joseph)。
