Sean Taylor, a native of Brookville, Pennsylvania, recently earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting with a Cognate in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, where he was a diction coach for the CCM Chorale and CCM Chamber Choir. He holds a Master of Music in Conducting from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was assistant conductor to Robert Page, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Westminster College (PA). His primary area of research is choral diction; his D.M.A. document, titled “A Musician’s Guide to Latin Diction in Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Choral Repertoire” is published via the OhioLINK Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Center.
Balancing his career between teaching and performing, Sean has served on the faculties of Washington and Jefferson College (PA), Central State University (OH) and the Berkshire Choral Festival (MA). Recently, he has performed as soloist with the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh (PA), the Middletown Civic Chorus (OH), the Berkshire Choral Festival (MA), and the concert series of Knox Presbyterian Church (OH) and Third Presbyterian Church (PA).
